If I outsource to TDS I will lose control of my stock?

We operate a web based stock and order management system that allows you to login to the system via the web and view every aspect of your stock and orders. This transparency means that you have complete visibility over your stock 24 hours a day giving you total control.

How will I know when my stock has run out?

Surely it would be more cost effective for me to run my own operation rather than oursource?

The question is ‘what is the highest and best use of your time’. By outsourcing to TDS we can use our experience and buying power to not only provide you with a more ‘cost effective option but also a more efficient option.

I don't want my customers knowing that I use a fulfillment house, surely they will know?

At every stage through our process, anything that the customer may see can be personalised with your branding, logos etc. This includes despatch notes to travel in the parcel, emails telling the customer their order is on its way and even the return address on the carrier despatch label. At no stage does the TDS logo have to appear.

How do you charge?

Our charges are dependent on the information that you provide us about your business

How often will I be billed?

Our billing is monthly

What are your terms?

Our payment terms are strictly 21 days from date of invoice.

Is there a contract?

There is a very simple contract for both parties to sign.

Can you receive container loads?

Of course! We are happy to receive containers at our site for unloading

Can you do physical stock checks?

Yes. As part of our client step up in the Warehouse Management System we can also specify how often and to what level (full or sample) the stock check should be.

Do you require bar-coding?

Bar coding is required as our system runs on barcodes as a means of identification. If not assigned by the client we will assign one based on the item/sku number

Do you charge for receiving goods?

This is determined by the nature of your goods and the frequency of goods received.

Can TDS handle the importing of products and payment of taxes and duties?

Yes. With prior notice TDS will handle the payment of ‘taxes and duties’

Do I have to use the TDS inventory?

We offer the use of our inventory to all clients so that we can manage your incoming/outgoing stock. You can still operate your own inventory linked to your website

Can I use my own product codes?

In most cases we can work with the client product code as long as each SKU can be identified by a separate code.

Is there a charge for IT set up?

This is dependent on the level of sophistication involved in the integration of your system with ours.

Can I e-mail my fulfillment orders or send a spreadsheet?

Yes

Will my orders go out the same day?

Yes, if we receive your order before 12 noon and we have stock the order will be picked, packed and shipped that day

Can I receive a tracking number?

Yes, depending on the type of delivery service you have selected we can provide tracking data.

What shipping options are available?

We have preferential pricing with major courier companies worldwide. Through our buying power we can find the courier, shipping method, track/traces services that ensure our customers get their goods as promised. Currently we work with Royal Mail, Parcelforce, DPD, Fastway, Fed Ex and many more.

What type of management reports can TDS provide?

On-time-delivery, stock, delivery from supplier, order status to name a few. Our Warehouse Management System will tailor reports to suit you. Take a client portal and we can give you access to regularly updated reports directly from our system.

I am a new start up business what level of business do I need to be at for outsourcing order fulfillment to TDS?

We can handle all levels of e-commerce business, some of our client's average 5 orders per week and other process 1000's per day.

Can TDS handle my online payments?

No, with the changes in PCI compliance in the UK TDS cannot act as a third party re-seller. The merchant number must be held by the organisation who owns the site domain address and also the stock.

What is a SKU? Do I need one?

The dictionary definition is a Stock Keeping Unit, its more than the box/pallet the product sits on it is the means by which we know one product from another. Every product you give us to manage must have a unique SKU enabling us to remain in total control of your possibly complex items.

Who insures my inventory when it is stored in the TDS warehouse?

The client is responsible for insuring their product when it is being held within the TDS warehouse. Our experience is that this is generally the most cost effective method. If this cannot be undertaken by any of our potential customers then TDS will provide a quotation.
